After Penn State’s nonconference schedule came to a close, Mike Rhoades met with the media on Wednesday via Zoom, as the head coach discussed a variety of topics.
Rhoades addressed the Nittany Lions’ nonconference scheduling decision, the team’s 3-point shooting, and recent changes to the starting lineup.
Here’s a recap and more of what Rhoades said.
Thoughts behind nonconference scheduling
Rhoades went into detail on Penn State’s nonconference scheduling tactics, particularly how games in non-league play could prepare the team for the Big Ten slate. He said he meets with general manager Scott Pera, who oversees scheduling, almost daily, and they prioritize identifying teams that play similarly to Big Ten squads.
