BOISE — Five days after his ill-advised shovel pass contributed to Boise State’s 21-point fourth-quarter collapse at Washington State, Boise State quarterback Montell Cozart rebounded in a big way.
Cozart completed 15 of 19 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns and added a team-high 71 yards rushing and another score to lead the Broncos to a 28-14 win over the New Mexico Lobos at Albertsons Stadium.
“It felt good to be able to go out there and play free and play the way I know I’m capable of,” Cozart said. “I felt like my mistake kind of helped Washington State gain momentum, and I personally came into this game and wanted to take care of the ball.
