Norwin quarterback Jack Salopek had a good feeling Pitt would offer him a scholarship.
He just didn’t know when.
Salopek is in the 2020 class, but Pitt had not yet received a commitment from a quarterback in the 2019 class. That changed June 17 when Davis Beville from South Carolina decided he wanted to attend Pitt.
Two days later, Salopek got the offer he was waiting for — his first overall — when Pitt offensive coordinator Shawn Watson told Salopek he wanted him to play for the Panthers.
“I was really excited. It meant a lot,” Salopek said.
