After a tough afternoon for Penn State athletics, the nightcap provided a thrilling finish, and a much-needed result.

Fueled by bad blood between the two historic programs, the Nittany Lions came out swinging against No. 5 Nebraska, capitalizing on an opportunity in the fourth set, which saw the Nittany Lions rally from down three to tie the match at 20 and 23 before a combination block by Serena Gray and Jonni Parker, coupled with a Nebraska error, sent the match to a decisive set five.

“It was one of those things where we knew we had to come together as a team to be able to pull off the win because Nebraska is a really good team,” senior Bryanna Weiskircher said.
