No. 6 Penn State women’s hockey shows grit in nail-biting victory over RIT

Sweet Sixteen.

No. 6 Penn State’s conference sweep continued on Friday afternoon when it kicked off its two-game series with RIT on the road, winning Game 1, 5-3. Closing out their conference-play for a short spell, the Nittany Lions returned to Gene Polisseni Center with the opportunity to enter Thanksgiving break as the lone undefeated team in the nation.

Penn State was given a run for its money, but ultimately defeated the Tigers, 4-3. The Nittany Lions improve to 16-0 on the season, and 12-0 in the AHA.

Freshman Maddy Campbell got the nod for her third career start, previously shutting out all three of her games this season.
