No. 6 Penn State suffocates Syracuse in conference sweep

Penn State returned to Pegula Ice Arena this afternoon after a successful game yesterday against Syracuse, which they shut out 7-0. The blue and white had an extremely physical game throughout Saturday afternoon, with multiple penalties on both teams.

Penn State used Syracuse’s five-minute major penalty to power a11-2 victory over the Orange, improving to 14-0 on the season and reaching ten wins in conference play.

Starting goaltender Katie DeSa got the nod, looking to tie the program record of 20 career shutouts, but allowed 2 goals on 14 shots, posting a .857 save percentage .

The Nittany Lions had an uncertain start, with Syracuse’s Rylee McLeod scoring a goal in the first minute of the first period.
