No. 5 Penn State welcomed No. 2 Michigan to Pegula Ice Arena, with all the ingredients of a high-stakes Friday night matchup— a storied rivalry, a Roar Zone White Out and a battle of two of the best teams in college hockey.
The matchup proved to be anything but exciting for the blue and white, falling to Michigan 7-1.
Back home for the first time in three weeks, Hockey Valley was bursting at the seams, and the Nittany Lions seemed to feed off the energy early, outshooting the Wolverines’ top-scoring offense, 5-1, through the first five minutes.
