No. 4 Penn State women’s hockey edges out No. 10 Cornell in tight-knit battle of attrition

No. 4 Penn State returned to Pegula Ice Arena for nonconference play on Tuesday night after its month-long break. The Nittany Lions hosted No. 10 Cornell in a top-10 showdown with an opportunity to prove their mettle against another highly-ranked program.

The blue and white played the long game with a 1-0 victory over the Big Red, with its only goal coming late in the third period. Penn State improved to 18-1 on the season, picking up right where it left off in the first half of the season.

Katie DeSa made her 17th start of the season, with all eyes on Josie Bothun’s program record of 20 shutouts.
