NCAA championships Day 1: Three Penn State women’s fencers finish in the top ten

Penn State finished day one of the NCAA championships with three of its six representatives placing in the top ten within their respected weapon.

For the team aspect of the championships, the Nittany Lions are in third place with 52 points. Notre Dame and Columbia are tied for first with 56 points.

Freshman Isabella Zuzulo and Lodovica Bicego started the championships off in women’s foil. In the first round the Newtown, PA native, Zuzulo started 3-4 and went 2-2 in the second round and third round. Her final record for the day was 7-8. Zuzulo now holds the 12th position overall.
