Melih Tunca shines in debut as Penn State men's basketball beats Fairfield

On June 2, four-star recruit and Istanbul, Turkey, native Melih Tunca committed to Penn State to play basketball for coach Mike Rhoades.

The fans in the Bryce Jordan Center didn’t know much about Tunca prior to the Nittany Lions’ victory over Fairfield, but they do now.

On Monday night, Tunca made his collegiate debut as the Nittany Lions took on Fairfield, and he didn’t disappoint. Coming off the bench but playing a hefty 31 minutes, Tunca garnered 19 points, six assists and four rebounds. He played a clean game, committing no fouls while losing the ball just once.
