Missouri track and field's Karissa Scheizer has been named to the Bowerman semifinal list by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The junior is one of ten athletes to make the list. The three finalists will be revealed June 21.
"The Bowerman Award is the most prestigious award in track and field to be bestowed on an individual," said head coach Brett Halter. "I am thrilled that the Bowerman committee is recognizing Karissa's efforts over the last year, she has certainly demonstrated that she is a worthy candidate for the honor."
Schweizer capped an excellent junior season by winning the 5,000-meter title last week at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
