College sports changed forever five months ago with the settlement of House v. NCAA, effectively allowing direct payments from universities to athletes.

For schools like Penn State, the ripple effects of this ruling have already begun to reshape how athletic departments think about funding and recruiting.

Prior to the settlement, college athletes earned revenue from name, image and likeness opportunities (NIL) — the rights that allow athletes to profit from their personal brand.
