UNIVERSITY PARK
Trace McSorley, with a brace still on his right knee, jogged toward a soggy, screaming student section on Saturday night, waved his arms wildly, rung the victory bell next to Tommy Stevens and walked through the south tunnel with a grin and a win.
But two hours earlier, Penn State’s lynchpin hobbled through that same cement hallway. In the second quarter, McSorley went down with a right leg injury, missed two series, briefly returned and slowly made his way to the locker room before the half was even over. No one knew if he’d return to the field.
