Former 49ers vice president of player personnel Scot McCloughan believed in Gore, though, and took him in Round 3. McCloughan himself isn’t even in the NFL currently, but he did a Twitter Q&A Wednesday night with fans. His favorite pick in his career? McCloughan chose Gore, now regarded as one of the most reliable players in the league, the owner of the longest consecutive-games streak (96) of any current running back. Gore laughed when he heard that fact, but he thinks he knows why the former executive might say that about him. “Well, I love football. When you’ve been playing ball since 4 or 5 years old [like I have], that love is easy [to see],” Gore said.
