Perhaps returning home was what Pitt needed to halt its two-game slide.
Freshman Brenna Wise led the way with 14 points and nine rebounds as the Panthers used a fourth-quarter rally to top Holy Cross, 56-50, Sunday at Petersen Events Center.
Pitt (5-3) had lost two in a row away from home, first against No. 6 Maryland in the Virgin Islands, then Thursday at Michigan in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. Sunday, though, Wise led the charge and got some help from Aysia Bugg and Kalista Walters, who had 12 points each.
The Crusaders (2-6) led, 41-35, entering the fourth quater, but couldn’t close it out.
