District basketball: Robert Morris Colonials fall to Mount St. Mary’s

Chris Wray scored 16 points and led five teammates into double-figure scoring as Mount St. Mary’s completed a season-sweep of Northeast Conference rival Robert Morris, 72-53, Thursday night in Emmitsburg, Md.

Mount St. Mary’s entered the game tied with St. Francis-Brooklyn and Saint Francis, Pa., for second place in the NEC.

The win gives Mountaineers coach Jamion Christian his 100th career victory, becoming the third coach in school history to accomplish that feat, joining Jim Phelan and Art Malloy. Christian now is 100-94, including a 66-39 mark in NEC regular-season games.

Mount St. Mary’s knocked down nine 3-pointers in the game and dished 17 assists on 27 made baskets.
