When Guy Gadowsky was hired by Penn State in 2011, the team was still part of the American Collegiate Hockey Association before it joined the National Collegiate Athletic Association the following year.
Thirteen seasons and 231 wins later, the former professional player has his Nittany Lions garnering championship expectations. This season, he’ll have a familiar face beside him on the bench: his son, Mac Gadowsky.
“As far as his coaching (Mac), it's the same as if he's just another player,” Guy said. “The benefit is that we're hoping to get him home for Sunday dinner. The blessing is that we get to see him more because we haven't seen a lot of him in the last eight years.
