Getting the scoring touch back came at the perfect time for senior forward Megan Schafer.
Schafer scored three goals over the past two games, earning her Daily Collegian Athlete of the Week honors.
Last Saturday, Schafer scored the go-ahead goal for Penn State in the second half against Michigan. Her scoring prowess continued into Sunday against Michigan State, as the seniors were recognized for senior day.
Schafer’s performance also earned Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Sunday afternoon was emotional for the seniors, coaches and families but that didn’t slow down Schafer from scoring the first two goals of the game.
