After netting her first two goals of the season in Penn State’s win over Duquesne on Sunday, midfielder/forward Frankie Tagliaferri has been named The Daily Collegian’s Athlete of the Week.
The sophomore had a breakout game in her first collegiate start, finding the back of the net twice in a span of four minutes during the second half. The goals would help propel the Nittany Lions to a 6-0 victory, and a 2-0 start to the season.
“The sky is the limit for Frankie [Tagliaferri],” coach Erica Dambach said after the win. “She’s working, she’s growing, she’s getting better, and I’m proud of her.
