Penn State cornerback Donovan Johnson was absent on the Nittany Lion’s first depth chart of the season released on Tuesday and now we have a reason for his absence.
On Wednesday night, it was announced by Penn State head coach James Franklin that Johnson has been suspended for Saturday’s season opener for a violation of team rules.

Johnson entering this season was expected to be a heavy contributor to the Nittany Lions defense after appearing in 12 games as a backup/reserve corner in 2018.
