Joey Coffy netted four goals for visiting Cornell, who dominated possession against Penn State on Wednesday afternoon and held the Nittany Lions to single-digit goals for the first time this season. The 10-7 win moved the Big Red to 10-1 on the season , while handing the No. 10 Lions (9-4, 1-1 Big Ten) their second loss in as many games.
“I thought they did a good job of being aggressive and we just really couldn’t get into a rhythm,” Lions coach Missy Doherty said. “In the second half they had possession time most of the half, so it’s hard to get in a rhythm offensively if you’re not getting the draw and they’re having such long possessions.
