Comment on "National Signing Day 2017: Who has the Top 10 classes in the country already?"

The strength of Maryland's class lies in its balance and depth, much more so than in any volume of blue chip prospects. The Terrapins don't have a single five-star commit, but have largely gotten out in front of their second-tier Power Five rivals by piling up verbals. They have 14 pledges on either side of the ball, including two junior college prospects.

DeMatha Catholic running back Anthony McFarland, pictured here, is the top commit in the class, ranked No. 71 in the country by Scout.com and considered sixth in the nation at his position by the same outlet.
