The summer of 2025 became the summer of coach Guy Gadowsky, whose relentless recruiting created a noticeable buzz surrounding No. 5 Penn State.
The Nittany Lions’ busy offseason was highlighted by several noteworthy commitments, none bigger than Gavin McKenna, the consensus No. 1 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
The lofty expectations surrounding both McKenna and the program turned into production on Friday at Mullett Arena, where Penn State defeated No. 14 Arizona State 6-3 behind Charlie Cerrato’s five-point night. McKenna finished with two primary assists.
The Nittany Lions opened with McKenna, Aiden Fink and Reese Laubach.
