On Friday, Penn State's Board of Trustees officially approved the appointment of two new deans during its meeting at the Penn State Harrisburg campus.
Dr. Justin Schwartz is set to take the role of Dean of the College of Engineering while Dr. Lee Kump is set to begin his tenure as the Dean of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences.
Schwartz will replace the college's current dean, Amr Elnashai, effective August 15.
Schwartz was previously is Head of Materials Science and Engineering at North Carolina State University, according to a press release. He was also named the Kobe Steel Distinguished Professor in 2009, according to the North Carolina State University Website.
