Penn State, 2,564 miles home, was held to a draw by UC Irvine late Friday night.

The Nittany Lions (0-1-1) and Anteaters (1-1-1) tied 1-1 draw after 110 minutes of soccer.

Just two minutes into the game, Penn State’s Ethan Beckford sent the first shot of the night towards the net, where it was saved by Anteater goalie Alex Waldron. In the 31st minute of play, the Nittany Lions netted their first goal of the season, as sophomore Midfielder Aaron Molloy buried the ball in the top right corner of the net.

From the 31st minute on, it seemed as if Penn State was in control.
