Nebraska entered the 2024 season having not played in a bowl game since 2016, which was the longest current drought amongst Power Four conference teams. The Cornhuskers got bowl eligible - barely - and finished the year with some good vibes and a 20-15 win against Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.
However, it’s safe to say that Nebraska fans wanted more, as they opened with three straight non-conference wins - including a beatdown of Colorado - and were ranked in the AP Top 25. An overtime loss to Illinois came next, but the Huskers still won back-to-back conference games to sit 5-1 and 2-1 in B1G play.
