Perhaps no other position group on Penn State football’s 2025 depth chart is as set in stone as running back.
Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton are gearing up for year three as the Nittany Lions’ two-headed monster in the backfield. Both are coming off 1,000-yard 2024 campaigns and are poised to be a part of arguably the best rushing attack in college football.
However, Allen and Singleton's return creates a logjam in the running back room. Young players who were poised for bigger roles in 2025 will now have to wait another year. Ja’Juan Seider’s departure created some uncertainty about the future of the room, but Stan Drayton swiftly came in, stabalilzed things, and prevented any transfer portal departures.
