Women's Hoops Falls In WCC Opener At Santa Clara

Santa Clara, Calif. - Eli Lopez Sagrera scored 17 points, but the Pacific women's basketball team dropped the West Coast Conference opener Monday night, 76-52 in Santa Clara.

Santa Clara controlled the glass from the outset, posting a 48-33 margin on the glass. The Broncos used a 20-4 run in the first quarter to gain the momentum. The Broncos kept the Tigers at bay with a 21-7 third quarter.

The Tigers forced 25 turnovers, put turned them into 21 points, but committed a season-high 32 turnovers - the most by a Pacific team since the 2009-10 season - leading to X29 Santa Clara points.
