STOCKTON – The start of conference play always brings a sense of renewal.
This season’s pre-conference schedule couldn’t get in the Pacific men’s basketball team’s rear-view mirror fast enough.
To sum up perhaps the roughest two months in program history, all stemming from a joint investigation with the NCAA over academic misconduct, as many as three players were withheld from competition, the head coach and an assistant coach were indefinitely suspended, and the university self-imposed scholarship and recruiting restrictions over the next three years with a postseason ban this season.
