A nationally recognized administrator with extensive leadership and management skills will be the new head of University of the Pacific’s Athletics Department.
Janet Lucas has been named director of athletics at University of the Pacific.
Lucas, University of California, Riverside’s, executive associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator, succeeds Ted Leland who retired as Pacific’s athletic director in October. Pacific announced the appointment today. Lucas, who previously served as the interim athletics director at two different California public universities, will begin her new post on May 7.
