Tigers trounce Dons in WCC series finale
STOCKTON — The Pacific baseball team did more than just hit the ball well on Saturday. Pacific hit so well, that it racked up 19 hits.
The Tigers took a two-run first inning lead on a towering home run to left field by Danny Mayer and never looked back, in a 14-2 thumping of USF in a West Coast Conference game at Klein Family Field.
Pacific (9-13, 3-3 WCC) won the series, after beating USF 5-3 on Friday and losing 3-2 on Thursday at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
“He made a mistake and I just made him pay for it,” Mayer said of his home run.
