BERKELEY, Calif. - In their second consecutive America East Conference matchup, the Pacific field hockey team dropped to the California Golden Bears, 4-1 Saturday afternoon. Senior, Emma Leach was the lone goal scorer for the Tigers.
California struck first and early as they worked the front of the goal and put the ball in the bottom left corner to make it 1-0.
The Tigers had a chance to even the score in the 18th minute with a breakaway from Kriekie van Wyk but the shot hit the side of the goal. Pacific was awarded a penalty corner shortly after but a Savannah Burns missile was saved by the Bears' goalkeeper.
