Pacific was picked first in the poll and garnered four first place votes, two more than second place Portland. Additionally, three Tigers, seniors Camden Riley and Wouter Verstraaten and junior Tariq Branche were named to the Preseason All-WCC Team.
The Orange and Black's first overall selection comes just one week after the team received votes in the first United Soccer Coaches' Poll of 2018. Pacific is coming off of a season in which the Tigers went 4-2-1 in the WCC to finish tied for second with Portland. The team would go on to make a run to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to the eventual National Champions, Stanford, on penalties.
