STOCKTON – Pacific’s Desire Finnie is only a sophomore and already has earned the trust of her teammates and coaches as a clutch performer.
Trailing Gonzaga by a point in the final seconds of overtime, the Tigers put the ball in Finnie’s hands and let her go to work. And the 5-foot-11 guard from Berkeley came through with a short-range jumper off the dribble that stood up as the winning basket when the Bulldogs’ Jill Barta missed a scoop shot from near the basket at the buzzer.
