Tigers out of sorts against Pilots
It was just one of those nights.
The Pacific men’s basketball team came out flat and stayed that way against Portland on Saturday at the Chiles Center. The Tigers being in a funk combined with the Pilots’ enormous advantage at the free-throw line were reflected on the scoreboard, 80-67 in favor of Portland, which moved a game ahead of Pacific in the West Coast Conference standings.
The Tigers have lost four in a row and seven of their last eight games.
“When you look at the numbers, (free-throw shooting) is where the game was won and lost,” Pacific interim coach Mike Burns said.
