Tigers knock off national champs

The Pacific men’s soccer team’s past two seasons have ended at the hands of the Stanford Cardinal. On Thursday night, the Tigers took one back against the top team in the country.

Jonathan Jimenez scored in the 16th minute of play on assists by Camden Riley and Charles Brewah, and the Tigers shut out Stanford 1-0 at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium, knocking off the defending national champions and ending Stanford’s program record 22-match unbeaten streak.

Goalkeeper Mateo Gomez had the performance of the night, keeping the Cardinal off the scoreboard to earn his third shutout of the season.
