Tigers host thousands of kids for fifth annual Education Day

STOCKTON — While most of the youngsters relaxed and soaked in the atmosphere at Spanos Center, a group of students from Morada Middle School had a job to do.

The students in Sara Pohlman’s journalism class brought along their pads and pencils and reported on University of the Pacific’s women’s basketball Education Day contest against Weber State on Thursday morning. The annual event featured more than 2,600 students from 25 local schools coming to the campus and the game for a day dedicated to education and literacy.

They saw the Tigers overcome a 16-point first-half deficit to win easily, 76-53.
