Tigers' captain answers challenge

STOCKTON - T.J. Wallace took his coach's challenge to heart.

The senior guard and captain for the Pacific men's basketball team set the tone with his aggressive play on offense, providing the template for the effort the Tigers needed to gut out a tough 79-74 win over Pepperdine on Thursday in front of 1,669 at Spanos Center.

Wallace had game-highs with 25 points and a career-high 10 assists as Pacific (8-10, 2-3 West Coast Conference) snapped a five-game losing streak to the Waves (5-12, 1-4 WCC).

"Being the point guard, it's up to me to get us into our offense," said Wallace, who became the 20th player in Pacific history to score 1,100 or more career points.
