Third time not a charm for Tigers

It’s been said that beating a team three times in a season is difficult.

The Pacific women’s basketball team would have to agree after losing to Pepperdine 81-72 in the first round of the West Coast Conference Tournament on Thursday at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The Tigers twice beat the Waves during the regular season, including a 92-64 blowout on Feb. 13 in Malibu, but Pacific wasn’t up to the challenge the third time around.

“(Pepperdine) deserved to win today,” Tigers coach Bradley Davis said. “They made shots and we didn’t.
