The Delta College women’s basketball has every reason to believe this was their best shot at finally delivering a state title to the school.
But the Mustangs will have to wait until next season.
Due to concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic, the CCCAA state tournament in Lemoore was canceled on Thursday.
The Mustangs were ranked No. 1 in the state, were the Northern California champions and had won 22 games in a row. They were scheduled to open the tournament against Palomar at 7 p.m. Thursday, but were informed during a shoot around earlier in the day that the state championships were canceled.
