Sophomore steps up for Tigers

  • STOCKTON — Desire Finnie will have to get used to the bright lights of success on the college basketball court.
The Pacific sophomore guard scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Tigers to an 81-69 victory against San Jose State on Saturday afternoon.
While Finnie has developed confidence, averaging 14.8 points off the bench in the last five games, she initially covered her face when asked to speak in front of a video camera in postgame interviews. The requests will keep coming if she continues her pace.
"My main goal was to just help out the team because we're down a player and we need to step up," Finnie said.
