Pacific's women edges Portland 77-73

The Pacific Tigers found a way to win another tight, tough West Coast Conference women’s basketball game.

Trailing by 12 points in the third quarter, the Tigers rallied to beat Portland 77-73 on Thursday night in Portland. On Saturday, Pacific (11-5, 4-1 WCC) beat Pepperdine 64-63 in Stockton.

“It’s a reflection of how close the WCC is going to be,” Pacific head coach Bradley Davis said. “This is how it’s going to be.”

The Tigers left Oregon with the victory primarily because of its second-half defense and free throw shooting in the closing moments. They went 8-for-8 from the line in the final 42 seconds.
