STOCKTON – Alex Holt began her volleyball career at University of the Pacific as a walk-on, and finished as a leader.
Along the way she earned a scholarship and the friendship and respect of her teammates and coaches.
“She glorifies exactly what it is to be a student-athlete,” Pacific volleyball head coach Greg Gibbons said. “Here’s a woman who walked on, didn’t get much playing time at first, and eventually worked her way into the starting lineup and became a captain. She’s a remarkable player and person.”
Holt ended her career at Pacific on Tuesday when the Tigers defeated San Francisco 3-2 in a senior day event which was moved from Pacific’s Spanos Center due to unsafe air quality in Stockton.
