Pacific Splits On Day Two At Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic

Cathedral City, Calif. - On the second day of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, the Pacific Softball team earned a split, taking a 10-7 win over George Washington before falling in the nightcap to New Mexico, 13-5 in five innings. Pacific is now 5-4 on the young season, with one more game to play in the tournament on Sunday.

Game One

In game one of the day, Pacific roared to an early lead thanks in part to a three-run bottom of the first against Colonials starter Paige Kovalsky (0-2). Senior Sara Anderson walked to leadoff the frame and sophomores Rachel Sellers and Sydney Lahners followed suit with walks of their own ahead of junior Cassidy Gustafson, who was hit by a pitch.
