STOCKTON — The Pacific Tigers have described Chris Rodriguez’s sudden ascent to the head coaching job as “seamless.”

And the Tigers were certainly as smooth as can be in a rout of Cal Baptist on Sunday.

Junior pitcher Hayden Pearce allowed just one hit and struck out 10 in seven innings and the Tigers collected 11 hits as they beat the Lancers 13-2 at Pacific’s Klein Family Field. The Tigers won two of the first three games of the season-opening series, which concludes at noon today in Stockton.
