Pacific men’s basketball interim head coach Mike Burns watched his players nearly pull off two huge upsets.
In both instances, the Tigers failed to protect second-half leads and lost West Coast Conference games to second-place Gonzaga (71-61) and first-place Saint Mary’s (68-65) in their two most recent games at Spanos Center.
After Pacific’s loss Saturday to the Gaels, Burns might never have been more proud of the team he took over in December.
“Every kid in that locker room contributed in some way, shape or form and they battled,” Burns said.
