University of the Pacific’s women’s basketball team finished out its nonleague schedule with a tough loss.
Toledo edged the Tigers 66-65 on Friday in the final game of the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic at South Point Arena. Pacific (7-4) opens the West Coast Conference season on Dec. 28 at Santa Clara.
Valerie Higgins led Pacific with 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists, Brooklyn McDavid had 12 points and Jessica Blakeslee had 10.
Nakiah Black had 23 points for the Rockets (4-6).
