STOCKTON — While the Pacific men’s soccer team won six consecutive matches to open the regular season, and steadily climbed in the national rankings, a loss was inevitable.
It finally came on Friday, a 1-0 defeat on the road at UC Santa Barbara that Tigers coach Ryan Jorden bluntly described as “terrible.”
The question was, how would Pacific respond once it had been defeated.
As it turns out, quite well.
No. 14 Pacific held off San Jose State 2-1 in front of a sizable crowd Sunday night at Knoles Field, improving to 7-1 and returning to the disciplined-but-aggressive style that Jorden preaches.
