The national powerhouse LSU softball team didn’t let Pacific return home without first earning some revenge.
No. 3 LSU, after falling to Pacific 2-1 on Saturday, came back with a 10-1 victory in a mercy-rule shortened, five-inning game Sunday afternoon at Tiger Park in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Pacific had beaten Sierra graduate and LSU pitcher Allie Walljasper in a pitchers’ duel on Saturday, behind Cassidy Gustafson’s complete game, but yielded 13 hits in their Tiger Classic finale.
LSU (4-1), also called the Tigers, posted three runs in the first inning and seven in the first three frames to rapidly pull away from Pacific (3-2).
