STOCKTON – The Delta Mustangs’ path to the Big 8 Conference title just became a bit more difficult.
Sacramento City College pitcher Danielle Reyes shut out the Mustangs 3-0 in their regular season home finale at Delta’s Bucky Layland Softball complex. The Mustangs (24-13, 18-4) must beat Sierra twice on Saturday in Rocklin to claim the conference crown.
Delta is still confident as it goes into the weekend, but has an opportunity to improve its position.
“With this loss, we have to go into Sierra and win two. That’s the situation,” Delta head coach Jim Fisher said.
